Villa Mariel Skopelos

The villa was in a great location with amazing views over Skopelos Town. It was modern, clean and spacious and the pool was a nice size for cooling off. The host met us to show us the way to the property and was extremely helpful, providing us with lots of useful information.

There were only a couple of very minor negatives - some additional storage and coat hangers would be useful in the bedrooms. The seating in the lounge wasn’t the most practical but this didn’t bother us as we were mainly outside.

The view was stunning - it is a couple of miles up a very steep, narrow and bumpy track but well worth the view and tranquility once you get there. Beautifully decorated and furnished with great taste. Manolis ( the host) couldn't do enough for us, was very knowledgeable and helpful in every way.

Not much to dislike really - couple of very minor things, but NOTHING that detracted from a wonderful stay. The exterior lighting ( by the gates and around n the pool etc) wasn't working/switched on - useful when returning in the dark. Similarly, the external wall lights by the door are on same circuit that needs the key fob in the door; makes it fiddley when locking/unlocking as has to be done in the dark. Instructions for the many appliances in kitchen would be useful. WE were nieve enough to think we could walk or cycle to the villa???? Definitely need a car when staying there.

What an incredible place! The villa was beautiful both inside and outside and had the most incredible view over Skopelos town. It was very peaceful - a great place to relax and unwind. Don’t be daunted by the track leading up to the villa - it is easy to navigate and you get used to the drive after a couple of goes. The walk down into the town is also great to do in the evenings if you don’t mind a bit of a hike of the way back. Manolis was a brilliant host and was always on hand to answer any questions or give good recommendations of what to see/do in the area. Would thoroughly recommend this property.

We had a wonderful stay in Villa Mariel. The location gives you a lot of privacy. Manolis was a perfect host. The road conditions around the Villa are a task for an experienced driver.

The view was absolutely incredible. We were talking about it during the stay and hard to imagine a better view of all of the Main city and port on Skopelos. The villa is beautiful, clean, spacious and just amazing complete with a great little pool and outdoor shower and eating area.

Nothing really. The drive up the hill initially can be a little intimidating but then all the roads off the main road are narrow so it is what it is and you get used to it.

From my first enquiry to leaving the island the service was top-rate. Manolis was exceptional in answering my (many) queries beforehand and accommodating our additional requirements when staying at the property. The property is beautiful, fantastic location and really clean. Little touches (welcome basket/a book on skopelos/scented candles) made us feel we were special and it was a special place. We "learned" to embrace the walk from town and to (almost) enjoy the drive. No-one wanted to leave either the villa or the island. Thank you so much.
