The property was great in terms of feel and look but finish needs attention

All the doors and windows were left open by the cleaners before we checked in on a VERY windy day. The result was a villa absolutely covered in black volcanic dust and sand. Surfaces, floors, sofas, beds, hot tub and pool were completely covered in black sand and dust. The cleaner came the next day at 11:45am, however this was after we had to clean the entire villa before we could even unpack. The beds were covered in volcanic sand and dust and needed to be vacuumed and sheets taken off and shaken and then remade. The entire villa needed to be vacuumed and mopped and all towels shaken outside. The pool cleaner came 2 days later after having to chase and chase the owner for them to clean the pool that wasn’t usable. This meant we couldn’t use the pool for 2 full days. (Not great for the kids). Such a shame as the villa was great but to have to clean an entire villa top to bottom on arrival and then chase the owner over and over again for the pool to be cleaned isn’t what we expected. Once the pool cleaner had finished, the pool was still covered in sand on the beds and pool AFTER it had been cleaned by the cleaners!Photos below shows the level of sand and dust after the pool cleaner had been. The house itself is fantastic! Large, heated pool, quiet location yet close to highway which gets you to all the fun places. We had really appreciated how much detail the owner has put into equipping this place, starting with blackout curtains which give you awesome sleeping experience, continuing with how well the kitchen is prepared for any kind of cook. The possibility to open ceiling and look at the stars from the master bedroom at night is breathtaking.

Honestly, nothing we would not like. One of the best experiences we had while staying in a holiday house.
