Samui Blu, villa with private pool

Pool and facilities were great. Dishwasher and washing machine available.

The 3rd bedroom is part of the main building, but there is not interior access to it. You have to go outside to get into it. The only access is via patio doors, therefore it is more of an annex room. This is great if you have adults who want private space, such a grandparents. If you have young children and you want to use the 3rd bedroom, who stays in the 3rd room? Parents or children? Either way, it means that either the parents or a child are separated from the rest of the family. Charging for electricity and water seems strange. Relative to the rental cost not being insignificant , the utility cost is low and therefore it takes away the premium feel of the property.

Beds are not comfortable. Location is far away from everything.

Almost everything, the pool, the sala, the views, the ambience, incredible main bathroom with tropical views!, a luxurious feel all round.

The only thing we did not like was the 3rd bedrooms separate entrance and therefore felt a little unconnected with main house.

Very serene and beautiful view. Owner was accommodating in shifting our dates because we had to reschedule at the last moment.

The maintenance and upkeep wasn’t what one desires from a luxury property. May be we caught things at a wrong moment- the owner said the pool gets cleaned twice a week. However in our stay from Sat to Tuesday; it wasn’t cleaned. We arrived at a pool full of plant dirt and leaves and left without it being cleaned. We did request the pool to be cleaned; but unfortunately the owner could not manage that in the duration of our stay. In fact, every morning I had to spend an hour or two clearing the dirt with a leaf catcher manually to get the kids to use the pool. Not something one desires when you look for experiences. Secondly, we requested for a chef for morning breakfast@ THB 450 per person. Again the care taker turned chef came in half prepared, didn’t lay the table and left the dirty utensils in the dishwasher for us to clean for later. Again, if quality service was not available, it would have been better had the owner set expectations for us that it’s better to dine outside. Thirdly, the of the villa doors don’t lock properly; probably need maintenance. After a few tries we gave up locking and used the main gate keys to keep it locked. Forth point- The owner said gardner will come everyday to remove the leaves in the patio; he did come the first day but never again. So the dried leaves were lying all over the patio again giving it an unclean look. Lastly, on a final day, we had requested a late check out, assuming the pool will be cleaned and the kids can finally use it properly. However, the owner insisted that we checkout by noon (though she offered to arrange for us to use the showers at the club house).

Samui Blue is even more stunning in person than in the photos! This was our first trip to Thailand, and after weeks of scrolling through Booking.com to find the perfect place, Samui Blue exceeded our expectations. The villa is tastefully furnished, and the sofa was exceptionally comfortable—a big plus for relaxing during family time. Each double bedroom offers a gorgeous pool view and comes with an ensuite bathroom. The villa also has a washing machine, which is a blessing after sandy beach days, and a dishwasher, making it feel like a true vacation with no dishes to worry about. I’d read previous reviews about high electricity costs and was bracing for a steep bill, but ours only came to about £50 for five days. Shortly after we left, the villa management, Kate—who is absolutely delightful—contacted us to say there was an error with the bill and arranged an immediate refund, bringing it down to under £30! I would have never known about the error in the bill. They also went above and beyond when my daughter accidentally left her purse behind; they met us at the airport to return it. Talk about honesty and fantastic service! A fantastic, affordable restaurant called Mr. Eung’s is just down the road. We enjoyed dining there as well as taking food back to the villa. I can’t wait to return to Samui Blue!

Leaving. I wish I could stay here forever.

The pool is sublime. The rooms and bedding are very comfortable. The main bathroom is amazing. The kitchen has everything you need. We were there for 11 days and the air con only cost an extra £20. Close to restaurants and the beach. The lovely hostess was so helpful- went off and got beers when we arrived and had done all the shopping I’d asked for.

The glass doors are a bit of a hazard. I walked into one! No railings into the pool which is trick if you have any walking challenges. We cobbled together carefully placed chairs to provide some sort of hand rail.
