Casa do Manuel Maria

Beautiful accomodation in a lovely area of the island. The property is very large and spacious, with excellent facilities. 4 large comfortable bedrooms, and lots of areas to enjoy the sun and a barbeque. Our trip was made absolutely fantastic and unforgettable by our amazing hosts, Maria & Frank. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they made us feel right at home and ensured we had everything we needed. Cannot recommend staying here highly enough. When we return to Madeira we won't hesitate to book again!

Everything was perfect

Great place! We enjoyed our stay very much. The house is divided into 4 sleeping rooms, 2 downstairs and 2 upstairs, 2 bathrooms and a kitchen. This was perfect setup for 2 families, providing some privacy. There were also 2 parking places available, although finding a spot on the street wouldn’t be difficult. On the upper floor there is a big terrace with family table to enjoy breakfast with the ocean view. There is also a grill available, gas grill right on the terrace or wooden fire place next to the house. All grill equipment is also provided, so you can enjoy BBQ with friends or family. Kitchen is also equipped with all the necessary amenities. Plus there is a washing machine, which is handy if you don’t want to travel with too much clothes. The place was spotless clean. Last but not least, the owners were super nice and helpful. Making sure that we enjoy every moment of our stay. We received a bottle of wine as a welcome gift, which was great treat plus some local bananas and figs from local plantation, which altogether made it very special and memorable. There is a supermarket close by for any groceries.

All was great. Just couple things to keep in mind when booking. There is no AC. Although the climate on Madeira is very pleasant year round and AC is not needed, when temperatures go above 35 degrees Celsius it can get very hot, especially on the upper floor. Luckily that was the case only for 2 days. The location is outside of Calheta, so best to have own wheels.

The house was spacious and clean with a nice place for dinning outside and shaded garden. 2 floors with 4 bedrooms 2 bathrooms and open kitchen. 2 good places for socialising if you go with larger group. House has everything you need for family stay including washing mashing etc. Close to the shops. Owners were very hospitable.

Ants were visiting the house often but i assume that is not uncommon thing and didn't cos any problems for us. You need to remember to tidy up all the crumbs after making meal to not invite them.
