Whiskey Gully Cottages

We ordered the breakfast basket and it was very good with more than enough to eat with a good variety as well. The location is beautiful and it is so quiet. Easy access to Stanthorpe and surrounding wineries etc. Denice looked after us and thank you for that.

We loved it all.

The little house was nice.

We only could drive in and out, nil additional facilities only the little house, as over half the property had be sold off. We should have been told. We had lots of ants.

Perfect location on the property but close to everything you need. Very quiet and secluded and nestled in nature.

Easy, simple instructions. Brilliant small touches like great soap, shampoo and condition. Milk in the fridge and the chocolate cake. Simple, brilliant touches.

Sadly we didn't get the chance to visit the property due to being told on the day that the property doesn't allow children.

Very harsh on the phone, no clear messaging in any confirmation from the property or booking.com that the property doesnt allow kids at all. Denise was very unaccomodating on the phone and my 7 year old was so upset after hearing her on the phone being so unhospitable and unkind. In the end we stayed at Ridgemill Estate who were warm and welcoming. They had a fireplace in the room and were in a vineyard the exact reasons given by Whiskey gully as to why kids are not allowed. When we searched for a property in Stanthorpe we put in 2 adults and 1 child, and whiskey gully came up so we booked. There was no mention of their no kids policy in the email confirmation from booking.com or in the many emails from Denise I noticed later after the cancellation and speaking to Denise on the day it was at the bottom of the page but very inconspicuous and not easy to find. It was only when I called on the morning of the stay that I was informed my 7 year old would not be allowed to stay and further more there was kindness shown when they still charged our credit card full tariff for the room after saying we couldnt stay at the property. Not really the warm and fuzzy welcome to Stanthorpe from them, we were lucky enough to find that at Ridgemill Estate who went over and beyond to help us feel welcome. I would suggest putting this no kids policy in the description or somewhere more visible and in the booking confirmation sent thru so no other familes get caught out after being charged in full for a service we couldn't use because it was no clearly stated in the booking confirmation. We understand businesses have the right to choose who they allow to stay on the property but being clear about it is helpful instead of having to read pages and pages of terms and conditions.

Secluded and peaceful location, waking up to a beautiful view with the wildlife on your doorstep. Kitchen is equipped. Love the fire place.
