Karleta Homestay

We had a great stay with a lovely family. It was such a great experience to see how families live in a different country. They accepted us into their home and we lived as one of them. Eating, playing cards, praying etc.

We had the ensuite room but there was no basin to wash your face or clean your teeth. There is no hot water but the host offered to boil some water for me to take a bath.

The family is really wonderful and kind. The kids are so polite and sweet. We really enjoy our time with the family and wish we could stay longer.

Carletas is a remarkable place. We stayed for two nights, wrapped in the warmth, honesty and generosity of this family and really felt like we were leaving family when we moved on. This is not like any other homestay I have ever been to. The house and facilities are very basic, the food is traditional and delicious and the family incredible. We will stay in touch. You will live a real homestay experience. Magdalena and Hironimus' family are absolutely lovely, even the praying part with them was so nice to be part of. We'll be around Ruteng next week and will stay with them again!

Super friendly and welcoming hosts. Showed their traditions by inviting the guests to their daily prayers. Amazing to join the family diner, delicious food!

The hosts made me feel I was part of the family. It was a great and interesting experience living with them a local life for 2 days. All the members of the family are super nice and kind, always taking care of me. I had great moments there and learnt a lot about the Indonesian way of living. All the meals were included and sharing the table with them was lovely.

The people were amazing. I loved their hospitality and inclusion of us in their lives. We shared in their prayers (though we're not Christian) and participated in a small exchange about what being afraid means to us.

Look, this was the most basic stay I've ever been at. The bathroom was absolutely bare bones. The kitchen was so minimal, it blew my mind. That said, I liked it all. It was one of the most amazing experiences I've had. Simply for the minimalist stay and lovely nature of the people.

An extraordinary family that will welcome you with open arms. We had a short but very good stay here. We were able to share a moment with the whole family. A tea will be served upon your arrival with some biscuits to be able to discuss with the owner. You also have the very hearty dinner which is included in the price. They will also invite you to attend evening prayer, a very important moment for them before eating. There are 4 adorable children. You will feel at home. If you are looking for a good experience with kindly locals, do not hesitate!
