Lower Mountains Retreat

This was the best getaway we’ve had in a long time. Such a peaceful place to stay with so many little unexpected inclusions. We have come home completely relaxed and feeling refreshed. The breakfast was lovely, the toiletries were great, perfect heating, kitchen full of supplies, utensils and appliances, there were books, magazines, games, music, a gorgeous porch with a tranquil water feature - perfect for our morning coffees, and the bed was so comfortable too! Loved all the little artworks on the walls and the small vase of fresh flowers were so pretty. We were honestly blown away with all the little things provided by very thoughtful hosts, Hugh and Naomi.

Genuinely can’t fault anything.

Everything. Accommodation was very clean and comfortable and very well equipped. The location was very relaxing and tranquil but close enough to do sightseeing. The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful.

Wish we had more time there.

A nice welcome message, a homely little chalet and self made traveler guides and suggestions for restaurants awaited me on arrival. The hosts (Hugh & Naomi) where both absolutely lovely to talk to and I enjoyed my time there. The house is very remote and spacious, the perfect place to relax after a day in the mountains -or- on rainy days sit in the roofed patio and enjoy the sounds of the rain.

For longer stays the only thing missing in the kitchen is a dishwasher, though I recon asking the hosts they could come up with a solution. Having a car is almost a requirement because of how remote it is, although Hugh mentioned he offers transfer to the local train station if needed. And if you are afraid of very steep pathways I would recommend parking on the street in stead of down by the chalet.

Felt very homely. Very clean property with everything you need. Great advice about the area and places to go, amazing contact with hosts. Would recommend everyone to go!

What a hidden gem, great accommodation, really lovely place to stay ,every thing that you needed was there. our hosts came out to greet us ,and made us most welcome. We would not hesitate to recommend this place to other travellers.

Lovely cosy feel with a warm welcome from host with easy access to the property.

Lack of oven or BBQ facilities, although in part my fault for not reading description.

Everything excellent.
