Beautiful surroundings. Peaceful and well-maintained. Definitely a little hidden gem! It was great being able to fish and barbeque directly outside the lodge so we could still spend time together as a family while doing different activities. The lake was well-stocked so my husband was kept well occupied and our teenage son had a good first experience of fishing. I enjoyed watching the birds and dragonflies, and painting the scenery. We timed our visit well to catch some sunshine and we were treated to a beautiful sunset followed by shooting stars on the first night. We had planned on some days out during our visit but felt so relaxed at Col's Mere that we didn't feel the need to go anywhere else and ended up spending most of our time there.

A dish drainer rack would have been useful but no complaints. Overall we had a very positive experience.

The location is just stunning . Such a tranquil location, very safe and secure behind electric gates. The lodges are perfect, very high spec , definitely 5*. It was that lovely we didn't really want to leave. We will definitely return , everything just perfect

Col's Mere was a fantastic hideaway for the weekend. It was fabulously clean, spacious, uncluttered and relaxing. There was so much wildlife, the highlight was being greeted by a Sparrowhawk on the first day and even spotting an unexpected Oystercatcher! The owners were lovely, very welcoming and informative. We had our teenage son with us who was glad of his own room, the comfy sofa, WiFi and big TV. Due to the lake this wouldn't be somewhere I would bring small children but it was all the more peaceful for that. The historic fish and chip shop at Upton (a quick walk) with coal fired fryer, was well worth the hour long queue and the breakfast at the neighbouring airstrip was also good and great value for money. An all round triumph!

It’s location, convenience for our travels all weekend. Secure for a groups of females.

The only comment we made was the location of the dog poo bin being next to lodge patio doors, maybe could be located on the drive? Or near fence opposite the lodge?
