Deveron Valley Cottages

Ally and Jason were so helpful and very dog friendly. Loved the dog welcome pack. 😄 It was great to have an enclosed garden and to be able to take her a walk down to the river. Seeing a kingfisher was a lovely bonus. We would love to go back for another break.

We stayed at the lovely old stone-walled Sunflower Cottage. It was immaculate, and had a new kitchen with all new equipment. It’s worth noting that there’s an excellent induction hob and microwave, and no oven, so shop for food appropriately if you’re planning on cooking during your stay. The twin beds were cosy, and it’s a very quiet location in the countryside, so we had some excellent sleeps. We enjoyed a scenic walk along the river bank, and there were several good places to visit within an easy drive from the property. Ally was an excellent host, friendly and helpful, and available if we needed anything, as she and Jason live on the property. Everything is very well organised and extremely well-run.

Because it’s a country location, the guest manual mentions the need for water conservation, and we totally agree with this. However, the shower was really hard to adjust to the hot water system and we had a few cool or only partially warm showers. Also we hadn’t initially realised that we had to turn on the hot water switch in the kitchen, but that was really our own error I guess. We wouldn’t find the shower at all enjoyable in winter, but as the bathroom was nice and warm (the heated towel rail is very efficient) it wasn’t a major detraction in summer.

We love this place. Second time booking at this place but different cottage. The view was very nice remote peaceful quite total privacy. Would definitely book here a third time.

Fantastic place to relax and nice walks for the dogs. The owners could not be more helpful.

Location. Quiet. Outlook from swallow cottage.well equipped kitchen. Very clean. Good parking Warm welcome from available on site hosts, who clearly care about the environment.

Nothing really. Long private drive was a bit tricky for our low car. But actually we loved our stay.
