Snowgrass Lodge - River, Mountain Views & Hot tub

The location over the river was beautiful and the sound of the river was very relaxing. The house is very well appointed and little extra were provided like a basket of towels for the hot tub and blankets for the deck.

The decorations were odd. A mix of Christmas and grocery store art. There were no window coverings. It was uncomfortable in the bedrooms. There was a sign to remove shoes, yet there was gravel and debris scattered about the floor. The outside furniture was filthy and the deck was full of debris. The grounds were not kept up which made the walk around the house to unlock the door, worrisome. Why not lock the key somewhere by the front door? Didnt seem to make sense. This situation made me think twice about using the hot tub. None of these things were that important to us, but with all the great potential here, it seemed a shame not to care enough to clean the place up. It could be fantastic!

Spacious, beautiful, wonderful kitchen

EVERYTHING FROM THE BEAUTIFUL GRAND ENTRY TO TJE CHEFS KITCHEN TO THE AMAZING MASTER SUITE TO THE WALK IN SHOWER TO THE FIREPLACES EVERYTHINF WAS BEAUTIFUL.

The downstairs fireplace didn't work. However the owner offered to fix it for us and I said no so not bad bad. The hottub out side heats but only blows bubbles on half the tub. Could be user error. Hot water runs out fast

The property is beautiful and the location is great. Quiet with a modicum of privacy. The kitchen was well laid out and held more that enough dishes/cutlery and basics such as spices/coffee filters/etc and everything was well labeled. Great hot tub. The property is three levels. The upper level bath and bedroom are superior except for the heat problem discussed below. On the main level, there is one bath situated between two bedrooms, with an individual toilet and sink for each bedroom and a common tub/shower, nice touch. The bed on the right side was comfortable, the one on the left was like sleeping on lumpy mashed potatoes. Additional apartment on the lower level with a media room and separate fireplace. Linens provided were good.

Owner response- I left three voicemails asking if their pet restriction extended to service animals and never heard back. My companion has a service dog. Since we didn't hear, she traveled without the dog, a decided inconvenience. We found several problems the first night, a window that wouldn't close all the way, allowing cold air to stream into the sink area on the left on the main floor. A toilet that ran constantly, TVs were all set up on Apple and we could not get them to work and 3 heating systems were programed to shut off at 0300 or 0800 requiring them to be reset to keep the temp comfortable. I called the owner in the morning and he came over. He appeared in a rush to leave. Got one TV to work and said he thought the others needed to have the remotes charged and asked me to do it, but didn't provide a charger. Said he'd get his handyman on the other problems, he did not. When we returned that evening, we found that ladybugs and grasshoppers had gotten in through the open window and into the right bedroom and bath, making it uninhabitable. We shut that one off hoping to limit the infestation. That was not totally successful. By the time we were ready to leave, they had found their way into the living room and kitchen. As mentioned above, the bed on the right was not comfortable. Cleanliness was an issue. The bathmats on the main level had not been washed in some time. The owners have a long list of items they request from their guests. They need to check and make sure that the house is ready for those guests and be more responsive to problems.

The location was perfect. Lots of room to mingle. All the bedrooms were comfortable.

Hot water in lower baths limited

The location and house itself was incredible! The hot-tub was awesome and thorough instructions were given from the hosts!

The keys were hard to access and there wasn’t a good way into the house after leaving and coming back. There was a lady bug infestation throughout the house and they were in the beds as well. Multiple outlets were non working on the main floor and there weren’t as many beds as advertised

Location is great. House is bright, main level has plenty of room. Kitchen has all necessary supplies.

BEAUTIFUL LARGE HOUSE

nothing everything was perfect only suggestion would be the heater control was either too hot or not hot enough but it’s winter so hard to say much

This is a magnificent property. we were extremely impressed because it is just as beautiful as the photos. The kitchen is large and welcoming, with every amenity you could possibly imagine. And there were plenty of bathrooms. Our only complaint is that the beds were sagging, worn, and uncomfortable. We were a group of 10 women and could not find enough beds. That was a surprise. One of the king size beds is in a loft up a 10 foot ladder and no one wanted to negotiate that. The rollaway beds are old, saggy, and uncomfortable! Perhaps great for a child but not an adult. So we ended up with mattresses on the floor and people sleeping on couches.
