"Glamping in an amazing treehouse setup - a bit cold!"

8.0

Lauro was so nice to us. We really appreciated being able to use the fireplace for as long as we pleased. Beautiful glamping experience overall!

Let’s be honest; you WILL get cold. Bring warm clothes accordingly, but still, only the downstairs room has a fireplace. no heating upstairs = super cold the second you’re not under the blankets. Also, the upstairs bathroom is outside of the appartement, so it’s even colder. The shower water is either freezing cold or boiling hot - do not expect to wash yourself comfortably, it is simply not possible. There should also be a way to make yourself coffee in the morning, for us this was really annoying to have to wait to get to the village.

"No regrets--only a desire to return with more time, and a guitar for the campfire."

10.0

When we first arrived, my jaw hung open. We had just driven up the mountain through a beautiful forest, only to find beautiful wooden cabin with a wood stove and balconies, built by Lauro himself and his team. I had no words to describe how I was feeling, but awe is close. The shady grounds were well cared for, with a central campfire area. Sunsets and sunrises either from our balcony or from a short walk over a mountain vista. A very cool restaurant, Nabanna, nearby, along with Paco, the temazcal ceremony leader--both within a 10-minute walk. Everything here is the real deal--no pretentiousness, only authenticity and kindness. If you're seeking privacy or community in the woods, you'll find it. Thank you, Lauro!

+ View + Wood smell + Silence + Stray dogs The location was beautiful and nice. There were some water bottles in the room already. There is a campfire place outside and inside there is a wood stove. Laura is communicative and kind. He responded as soon as possible when we had questions.

- Uphill walks (Tuctuc included) - Distance from stores - No Wi-Fi/Signal - Weird locks Sure, you go to Cabañas el Bosque for silence, but you are stuck there in a sense. Not having signal is a bit of a problem if you need to call a tuctuc taxi. Gladly the tuctucs work along if you order them to come and pick you up at said time. So the extra money is going to them. Sadly sometimes (especially when you are heavy) the tuctucs ask you to get out in order to walk the uphill walk of hell. We had a problem with the locks, as we didn't understand how they exactly worked which resulted in a wild first night getting locked out of the house and struggling with getting in. We found a ladder to get back but, the cabins aren't really thief proof that way. Be sure to come with food, drinks and warm clothing when you come there. It can get very chilly at night and it doesn't have heat unless you use the stove.
