65 Sparrows Nest

First impressions are critical, and this wasn't good. Right at the front door was a huge rat bait box. There were three decrepit welcome mats, which were not welcoming. Right when you walk in you are hit with the bed which had an old stained cover on it. I thankfully brought my own sheets and changed the bed. It was after that I walked thru the cabin and noticed the nice kitchen and bathroom. My advice..move he bait box get a NEW FRONT DOOR MAT, AND BED COVER OR BETTER YET A DUVET THAT HAS A WASHABLE COVER. The idea that other people are washing the dishes gives me pause and if we were going to use the kitchen other than coffee in the morning, I would have rewashed all dishes before using.

Very nice, quiet setting. Authentic feeling lodge in nature and with a nice decking area to sit outside. It was about an hour drive from Yosemite valley where many hikes began but a nice drive and quieter than the central area. The kitchen was very well equipped to be able to cook over the 3 nights we stayed. I would say the place was better in person vs pictures.

The outer bedspread had some stains on that made us not want to use this. It felt fairly expensive for property but this is inside the park so expected a premium.

The studio cabin was very cute and being inside the park was nice. The first day we arrived in June the line to enter the park was a 2 hour wait. The stores in Wawona kept us stocked with food for the week and had cute Yosemite gifts. The air conditioning worked great. You can see the river from the deck.

It is not as private as it looks. The property map does not lie, as this is the last cabin belonging to this company, but Wawona is a whole community and local cabins surround this one.

TV didn't work (no big deal to us but maybe others); bathroom door is hard to close as it has swelled up and needs planing to make it fit right. A little cramped around the bed since it fits in an enclosed area. Otherwise, all was great!
