Entire 3 Bedroom Adventure Chalet, Near the best of the Poconos

Close to a lot of interests in the area.

The house was cozy for a family stay. Most necessities were included. Conveniently a great store was close by in the event you forgot something. Coffee in the covered deck was serene in the early morning hours.

Little inexpensive details needs improvement to make this place a great place. There are minor repairs that the host should improve on if he/she values customer feedback. The potential is there. This is a 2.5 bath not 3. The strong smell of smoke from the fireplace was a bit overwhelming.

There were a number of issues with this property. I’ll start with the fact that the rear door, that leads to the deck was broken and unable to be locked. The only form of lock for the door was a wooden stick that was placed on the door track. This made my family very uneasy and uncomfortable—to be in an unfamiliar house and place and unable to lock the door for safety. There were damp towels left in the dryer when we arrived and we had to clean the bathrooms upon arrival. We opened the cabinet to grab a drinking class and there was hair wrapped around one of them. One of the eyes on the stove was very difficult to turn off and we had to remove the knob and use pliers to ensure it was off and place the knob back. The oven was unable to heat so food items that were purchased and needed to be prepared in the oven were discarded and wasted. The living room floor had what seemed to be animal hair gathered on the carpet. The wall plug behind the dining table did not work. The wall separating the entryway and the kitchen is missing a piece of the baseboard which resulted in a screw being exposed that could’ve easily caused injury to anyone passing. We did accidentally drop a champagne flute which we have no problem paying for. There was also an issue with the hot water system, that prevented us from using multiple showers simultaneously. The hot water would take around 15-20 minutes to reheat to a comfortable temperature. We also had to purchase curtains for privacy because the curtains that hung in the front window allowed you to see into the house which also made us uncomfortable. The curtains that we purchased were put up for the duration of our stay and removed upon our departure. There were also no instructions on how to dispose of trash for the property. Our host also mentioned items were missing and we would like a list of such items to compare to the inventory we took upon arriving to the property.

It was an awesome place to stay with a great value for the money we paid. Close to different activities, grocery stores. Very quite and surrounded by nature. Pet friendly and with a very properly equipped kitchen. We had a great time, definitely recommended.

Very comfortable, clean and cozy chalet close to many places of interest.

The house was roomy and it was close to Bushkill Falls and Delaware Water Gap. Bathrooms and refrigerator very clean.

1) There was a mixup in communication when we arrived at the property (9:30pm). We booked through Booking.com and apparently they were supposed to contact us prior to arrival as to instructions to access the property via front gate. We called the Property host and they said they were trying to contact us for 4 days. We never received any phone calls or emails. Our cell and email address were listed in the reservation so not sure what happened. We called the property owner and he did take care of everything and was able to get us through the front gate within about 15 minutes. 2) One of the reasons we booked this property was to save $$ and cook on the grill. When we arrived with food and charcoal, we noticed the grill was very dirty and still had charcoal dust inside and quite gross. This was very disappointing and we had to dine out. Luckily, the prices in East Strousburg were not too bad and the food was quite good (DD’s Miracle Diner, Beseckers Diner, Smuggler’s Cove, Compton’s Pancake House, Bushkill Falls).

It was a wonderful time. House was clean and tidy, had everything u needed for a relaxing stay. Cool to watch the deer in the morning. Close to everything we wanted to see. The swimming lake was our favorite 😍
