Loved everything

The firewood tub is open to all and ppl walk past to go on the trail. I would put up something to afford guests privacy while in there. People watching you is very uncomfortable

Spotlessly clean. Friendliest reception. Everything we needed was there. Beautiful views. Would love to return in summer to enjoy the river.

An enchanting rustic Cabin in a beautiful setting. We had everything we needed for a braai on the banks of the river with the sound of the rushing water at the base of an imposing kloof which was orange in the sun set.

Fabulous location..enticing swemgat some were swimming even in the middle of winter and magnificent boskloof.

Huisje Hangness is traditioneel Afrikaans huisje met een stoep ervoor. Het ligt iets hoger waardoor je lang zon hebt en over het dal kan kijken. De hottub wordt gestookt op hout en voor je klaargemaakt als je dat wilt. Het huisje is schoon en alles is aanwezig. Uitstapjes naar de Pakhuispas en de Sevillatrail zijn zeer de moeite waard. Rooibosproeverij is ook leuk om te doen. Wij waren er in de winter en hebben niet kunnen zwemmen in het Swemgat. Dat was te koud. Toegangsweg is gravel en goed te berijden.

Het huis en de omgeving bevielen ons goed. Inrichting van het huisje en de gastvrijheid vanuit de receptie zijn basaal, wat ook prima is.

The actual cottage is close to a beautiful and strongly flowing river that filled it with gushing sound throughout the night. I guess this would help some people sleep.

I arrived after dark. The little house keys were handed to me by an assistant. He also gave brief driving directions to the cottage after asking if I'd stayed with them before. The key envelope had the directions printed on it as well. While not hard to find, being dark now, it was difficult to know that I'd have to drive over the lawn to get to the river-side door, main cottage entrance. Then, figuring out which door to enter through was unwelcome. I eventually got the right door unlocked and hit my head on the low (old) entrance beam, which is not what I needed after a long day. A burning porch light would have gone a long way. Inside, the accommodation itself smelt damp, musky, and stale. Pretty cramped and small. Self-catering basics were all taken of. The mattress was rock hard. There was zero security around the cottage, so the misaligned inner barrel bolt not working didn't help me feel safe. The shower door didn't close well, and the shower water made strange humming noises? All in all, it's sadly somewhat overpriced for what you don't get. One feels this establishment has been a little forgotten over the years or is simply unloved.... is it perhaps time for a makeover?

The cottage was next to the river at the foot of the mountain. Very serene. We saw horses as well.

The cottage was too big for us as a couple. It was 4 bedrooms, sleeping at least 8. Because it was winter, the bigger space meant it was colder.

the ambience and the atmosphere was superb we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this area the cottage exceeded our expectations thank you, Gretha We'll be back
