The actual chalet was lovely and very cosy and clearly great care has been taken with even the little things, like having a knife sharpener. The bed was really comfortable so can’t fault any of that.

We had not realised this chalet, Herons Nest, was actually attached to another one, River Birch, as in the information it just states ‘ back to back’ not actually part of the same building. The bedrooms and bathrooms of the two chalets are joined and have only a wooden wall between them. Other guests describe hearing the sound of swans and ducks. Once we got into bed we heard the young couple next door thoroughly enjoying their love making and then using the toilet and bathroom and chatting away. On the Sunday morning we thought we’d be able to have a much needed lie in but our neighbours got up at 7 a.m. and we could hear them chatting away, using the bathroom and loo and then, once again, enjoying their love making. We left at 9.30 am even though we could have stayed till 12. The young couple weren’t being particularly noisy or anything but wooden walls do not block sound. The advertising needs to say more than just ‘back to back’ as these are semi detached chalets and that should be made clear. The larger chalets are all detached however.

A massive, but cosy and warm cabin. They have obviously put a lot of thought into the design. The beds are incredibly comfortable as is the kitchen/sitting room. The kitchen is really well stocked with implements, plus everything you need - dishwasher tablets, washing-up liquid, foil etc. First place I've been to that is so well equipped. I'd love to come back some time.

Could have had a name on the entrance- we arrived on the dark so just hoped the satnav had got it right

very cosy, clean and comfortable with everything that is required.

The place was well equipped, clean and spacious. It was a very comfortable stay for the two of us. The surrounding was perfect as it was calm and quiet.

Excellent location, comfortable bed, beautiful outlook to lake and swans. Very acceptable.
