The house is very nice, traditionally looking but spacious enough, with the bathtub kind of outdoors like an onsen. Location is right next to Nijo castle, easy to get to and from, and there is a convenient store and supermarket nearby. The host explained everything about the house and the place had everything that is to be needed.

What a chance to stay in such a traditional house with all modern facilities ! The location is great with public transportation and plenty of supermarkets. Located in a small lane, it is really peaceful and quiet. The floor heating was amazing as was the hot tub with the nice view on the garden.

Felt like a proper traditional ryokan . Location was good

Well the kitchen was not provided with proper utensils . Super cold guess they didn’t have any heating system . Extra quilt was badly strained so couldn’t use. Even the cleaning was not good. Bathroom had left out tissues in basins. Even beneath futons ( floor beds ) there were left out used earbuds buds Locks of house were not proper. Not for tall people as the ceiling height is very low. So up keep on banging your head. Over all not a comfortable a stay for a family as it was very cold. We stayed in places before that and they provided all the facilities. Not happy with this one .

great location, well appointed authentic interior. bus/train stations near by. easy transfer to center.

Loved the traditional feel. The accomodation was clean and as described. Beds comfortable, great location near public transport a bakery next door and a full supermarket around the corner. Two full bathrooms and a washing machine and drying rack were a perfect addition. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Convenience. Heated floors, dining table. Two bathrooms.

Washing machine was subpar. No detergent enough for all guests, had to buy our own. No dryer, drying rack is not sufficient.

Traditional Japanese decor is nice with a good location near nijo Castle and a supermarket (izumiya).

Check out time was pretty early (10 am), and the bathtub was outdoor, which can not be used in cold weather.
