Moinhos da Corga

Very nice chalet located in a calm area, where guests can enjoy nature and beautiful views. The chalet is equipped with everything needed for cooking. There is good internet and a TV. All rooms have air conditioning in case the temperature gets really high. We were lucky — it wasn’t too hot, and simply opening the windows was enough to keep a comfortable temperature. There is a barbecue zone. The owner responded quickly to any questions that came up during our stay. The beach is just 6 minutes away by car, so the family can enjoy swimming or relaxing on a SUP. A small town, Montalegre, is 13 minutes away by car and offers some cafes and restaurants. There are also some small local restaurants near the chalet. Porto and Braga are about 1.5 hours away by car — both are very interesting cities and worth a visit. If you're looking for a calm vacation, this place is for you.

It would be very nice to make the entrance to the property wider — accessing it with a van can be quite difficult.

Alles hat bestens geklappt, obwohl wir sehr kurzfristig gebucht haben. Kommunikation war einfach. Er gibt gleich noch Tipps für Einkauf und Essen…Der Vermieter spricht Englisch. Das Häuslein ist sauber und hat Charme.

Anfahrt ist etwas steil. Draussen hat es keinen Platz um zu viert zu essen.

It was a quiet location that in sunny conditions would probably be lovely - but it rained for us.

Access was far more of a challenge than we were led to believe - if it is damp a 4WD/AWD vehicle is appropriate - others may well fail. The beautiful location is also appreciated by flies and other flying bugs. There is a smell of drains (partly disguised by pretty burning candles) which we suspect is associated with the growth on the underside of the shower mats.

The view is great as well as the architecture of the house. It is very spacious and away from everything which is nice to rest. The bed is very comfortable and the house was very well cleaned.

The kitchen equipment was not good (kettle dripping, the doots to close/hide the kitchen don't close properly, the sink is broken (can't remove the plug to clean), knives were not shrapened, no cutting board). The window handles are always detaching so it is difficult to open the windows, the bathroom is not comfortable (metal shower with a plastic base) and it floods the floor more than excepted so we had to use towels on the floor all the time for this.

Clean and modern, comfy beds, air con. Spacious for 4 adults.

Due to hot weather running water was an issue. Perhaps a water reserviour for the chalets would ensure guests have the water they need to wash, drink, cook, shower and flush the toilet
