Self catering

Soap in bathroom given the remoteness of location (hard to find a place to buy if you forget your own) - usually accommodation has towels and bathroom soap and consequently this is an unspoken expectation - not a deal breaker but would have been nice to have there.

This cottage is absolutely wonderful. It is very well equipped, comfortable and spacious inside. Outside there is a BBQ and a garden with the most incredible views.

Our only regret is that we had only booked for one night!

Highbourne Cottages is truly a sight to behold. We had the pleasure of staying in the Protea Cottage. The views from the cottage were breathtaking, and it was spotlessly clean upon our arrival. The cottage features a double bed downstairs and two single beds upstairs. We thoroughly enjoyed watching the sunset from the comfortable couch on the deck. While there are numerous hiking trails nearby, we opted to simply relax and enjoy the peaceful and tranquil atmosphere of the property. We highly recommend Highbourne Cottages and look forward to returning in the future.

What a fantastic location! You can't get closer to the mountains. Loved the environmental ethos of the property 👌🏻. Such helpful and friendly owners.

Steep staircase to upstairs and uneven steps to get up to the property. More than outweighed by the rest of the beautiful property and location

It is an amazing place! Perfect location if you want to hike and relax afterwards. The Appartement is lovely, furnished with a lot of vintage stuff and real plants - loved it! Lindsey gave us a warm welcome and some recommendations for hiking in the Drakensbergen, restaurants etc. And last but not least, the view from the cottage, it is stunning! We really can recommend this place!
