The wifi connection could have been better

I wanted to give this property and hosts the benefit of the doubt but I have never had such a terrible experience with a booking from start to finish. Upon booking we got a message saying they had double booked us, then complete silence for 30mins while I'm scrambling and messaging/calling trying to figure out what to do as we were meant to be checking in shortly. Finally hear back to say they had moved the other booking(?). We arrive at 630pm to be told there is no power and it has been out since 430pm (ample time to have given us a heads up) and everything will be run off a generator and to conserve power while we are in the accommodation. We got ourselves settled and after about an hour or so we tried to watch a movie... no wifi. Then I decided to have a shower.. no RUNNING WATER. Everytime we needed to wash our hands we had to pour water out of our water bottles onto our hands. We decided to just go to be bed as by this stage it was 9.30pm, freezing cold and had turned out to be a pretty miserable experience. After checking out the next morning I decided to message the host privately, wanting to come to some sort of resolution as it was unacceptable to me to charge full price ($207) for basic amenities not working. She then essentially said I was lying about the whole thing. I have never in my life been treated like this when dealing with accommodation. We frequently stay in boutique accommodations around NZ and understand things can happen but their response to us letting them know our experience was icing on the terrible cake. Honestly, save your money, there are much better places to stay for the same price. You might be lucky enough to actually take a shower. Other fun things to note: *Shower floor was dirty - had some sort of dead little bugs all over it. *The windows had so much condensation it made huge puddles on the floor on the morning. * The bed was uncomfortable.

Loved the warm cozy private space, listening to the sounds of the bush while winding down on the deck..... just heavenly :) The little touches were so cool, especially the full length window in the shower and the gorgeous home made breakfast delivered to your door! What more could you ask for!? We will be back for sure, great value for money! Thank you so much for having us 😃

Beautiful location, the facilities were clean and modern.

Beautiful peaceful location, awesome hosts, delicious breakfast. The 3 course dinner in the glasshouse was lovely, so glad we took up the option! If you want somewhere to go that's relaxing, peaceful and not far from the city, this is it! Thanks so much :)

Heidi went to a lot of effort to make everything lovely.

I expected the chalet to be a bit more remote but was close to a lot of noisy buildings.
