River Idyll

Good value for money, helpful host

Our third year at the Idyll and consider it our little Tuscan home from home. Very quiet and rural area and there fore car is a must . Great base to explore or just relax in very private area of the property. Jacuzzi nice touch to cool off. Lovely host Laura is always available without being obtrusive and her organic products are excellent. Really is far from the madding crowd which is what we like. That’s said plenty of bars and restaurants 5-10 mins drive.

Is bit close to the road and some traffic noise during their “rush hour”but it’s never obtrusive for long

I had a wonderful stay during my time at the River Idyll cottage. The owner met me to give me the keys and show me around the property, and had provided food for breakfasts that lasted me for four days.

Nothing!

Host (Laura) is wonderful and collected us at the train station and offered lift for return journey. The property was cosy in the evenings and plunge pool and outdoor area wonderful during the day. Host provided wonderful local produce of cheese, ham, butter, yoghurt, bread, cake and even catered for me being gluten free. The bed was especially comfy and the use of space was excellent. 20 minute walk to supermarket and selection of bars and restaurants, there is a fruit shop and bar 5 mins walk away and the area is very picturesque.

Our devices wouldn’t trust the Wi-Fi security, we didn’t bother the host with this as decided we didn’t really need it. Property is on a very busy road with cars passing at speed and no pavement for around 100 meters, could be noisy at busy times and had to be careful leaving the property but we didn’t notice the traffic after the first day.

Our second visit with the lovely Laura. Really is a lovely little hideaway yet 15 min walk from bar and restaurant although car really required to explore further.Great selection of bio foods which is topped up as required.Jacuzzi is very nice touch on a hot day as is the air conditioning.TV and internet all fine Inc Netflix.

As always few people mention road noise but it really only lasts hour or so in morning rush hour for what’s its worth

The property is in a private little court, with outdoor seats and facilities. Inside is very nice and cozy. Very clean and organized, the host is awesome, very flexible and responsive. Breakfast is included with very good organic products from the area.

The gate to enter the court is right on the main road so you need to be very careful when getting out.
