Howzit Hostels Hawaii

Location was close to many places in town

Noise levels late at night with guests and staff throwing a party and loud bar next door

This was truly one of the greatest hostels we've ever stayed at! Awesome, cool, clean, historic spot. We had a private room and it was awesome facing out toward the main street and the beach in the distance. They had free parking just a few blocks away, but everything was walkable from the hostel in town. There were plenty of bathrooms and showers, free chocolate chip pancakes in the morning, and just a really cool vibe. We loved this place, truly one of the greatest hostels. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to a friend or stay again.

Nothing, it was a great. It's a hostel, so its busy, there's alot of people and no AC, but it's hawaii! Just enjoy it. Its super clean and nice.

Was a bit worried about no ac but they have individual fans on each bed which helps. The staff are what make a hostel in my opinion…. Amara went above and beyond to make me feel welcome absolute gem 🙏. and another girls who’s name I can not remember (her brother is in England) she was also very nice and helpful

Great Hostel

Lovely communal area. The staff are friendly and there’s loads of activities & trips on during the week. Location is excellent- walking distance for most of Hilo and only 45 minutes drive from Volcano. Rooms were comfortable, beds have curtains. Bathrooms were nice.

I spotted bugs quite a few times around the hostel & there was no AC in the rooms.
