I was the only guest so i had a whole hostel to myself. The manager was super kind and caring, i felt safe. The place is a little run down but has everything necessary, and the location is excellent.

Air alert sirens are audible enough to wake you from deep sleep. Bomb shelter area is located conveniently nearby. The liquor shop/grocery shop across the street has good espresso, pastries, beer, and food for a fair price. The windows look onto a quiet courtyard that gets good morning light. The local farmers market is very close and offers fresh seasonal produce. Public street transportation access is one minute walking distance. The person running the place is very knowledgeable of local and national historic topics and interesting local locations to see as a visitor. GONZO Bar & Kitchen is one minute walking distance. GONZO Craft Beer is a few minutes away by public tram. The river is within reasonable walking distance for leisure time peace & quiet.Two Local movie cinemas are minutes away. Clubs offering live music are accessible on foot or by tram in minutes. Subway connections to the inner city are conveniently close to the building. The neighborhood is mixed use but primarily a residential neighborhood hosting families, students, and a few tourists so your travel experience will involve meeting everyday locals and educated person's.

Marshal Law curfew hours are not convenient but one can work around this by starting the day a bit earlier in the morning (5a.m.) It really works.

A pearl, a beautiful room with good energy and a good man as host in a quiet location. Very happy time being there.

Hotel was in a good location in the podil. A bit difficult to find from the street. The room was spacious

The shared bathroom was dirty. The staff were incredibly hostile and rude. We arrived late at night to find that they don't accept card at all. We didn't have enough time to go to the ATM before the military curfew in kyiv, we were told we could resolve it in the morning. We were woken up by the manager/owner banging on the door at 8am and shouting YOU NEED TO PAY. This was absolutely not an okay way to wake up guests and incredibly jarring. Check out wasn't for a few more hours and we had made it very clear the night before we weren't going to run off. We were in the city to teach a medical course and we'd made it clear we were exhausted and in need of a good rest. We were woken up earlier than we needed to be for no reason. Then as we prepared coffee the same person literally barged into the room and started again. So despite the location and price being fine, I wouldn't stay again or recommend just because of how this individual behaved.

Exceptional value for money if you are a budget traveller. The hostel is conveniently located close to the Metro station Kontraktova Ploscha. The city centre is easily and rapidly reachable. There are lots of cathering institutions nearby. Other kinds of public transportation also easily available.

No kitchen available as per my knowledge. Difficult to reach places could be cleaner.
