Beraliya Cottage

The views were great. Mr Wilson, the caretaker, was awesome and super helpful - made the stay as good as it can be for us, he made us dinner and the best tea! It's located away from the crowds, and you have the whole space to yourself, with a lovely garden and balcony to relax on. The cottage is literally a cottage, so had a bit to be desired in terms of amenities - but it was clean enough and beds adequate, nothing fancy or modern which was fine by us.

The road there is a little while away from town at the top of the mountain, so gets a little narrow and winded. The cottage being old is quite creaky and loud on the floorboards, so you can hear everyone upstairs. The hot water seems to reset every 5 minutes, so you just need to turn it on and off if showering longer.

During the festive season, I ventured to a location slightly over 4 kilometers away from the bustling city limits. Despite the distance, my entire family was enamored by the breathtaking views, particularly during the tranquil nights. The rooftop area was a highlight, offering an authentic Nuwara Eliya experience with its cool atmosphere and the gentle embrace of mist. The meals we requested were promptly and professionally served by Uncle Vilson, who impressed all of my family members with his excellent service. We particularly enjoyed Uncle Vilson's salad dish. It's important to mention Uncle Vilson's role as caretaker, as his attentive care greatly contributed to our positive experience. He consistently demonstrates exceptional customer service, always polite and wearing a welcoming smile. Additionally, I want to acknowledge Mr. Asanga, the owner, whom I only spoke with over the phone. Despite not meeting in person, his flexibility and availability for any queries left a strong impression on me.

I'd like to offer some feedback, aimed at enhancing or upgrading your current system, especially considering the cold environment. It seems that the hot water system functions effectively only for the initial few minutes of a shower. Additionally, it would be beneficial to maintain a stock of bulbs for the rooms. Unfortunately, during our entire stay, a bulb for the double room was unavailable, leaving only the night lamp, which proved challenging during nighttime.
