I had a truly lovely experience staying here. Char is a warm and thoughtful host who made me feel completely at home. The space was cozy, clean, and peaceful — perfect for a restful stop during my travels. One of the highlights was getting to see the stunning upstairs hall; it's full of character and history. Rapport qualité/prix correct.
Il n'y a pas de personnel présent, ce sont les autres voyageurs qui m'ont donnée les informations utiles, la cuisine est juste à côté des chambres donc les odeurs y entrent et les lits ne laissent pas d'intimité car ils n'ont pas de rideau.

We arrived at Char's Landing Hostel slightly later than we'd intended but that was perfectly alright because we had instructions to get in. Wifi code even written on the outside of the door in case we had no data! Hostel is beautifully presented - looks like someone's home. Lovely conversation with other guests inside the hostel. Good kitchen facilities. Washer/dryer available. Bunk beds in private room but that was fine, and they were comfortable. Quiet area. Would I recommend? Yes. Would we stay again? Definitely!

Great location in downtown Alberni. Char is a warm and gracious host who gave great tips on area sites. She hosts live music in the upstairs space, a great way to get a sense of the community. Kitchen was very clean and we had everything we needed. Great option for budget travelers.
