"Budget stay right at the foot of the ski slopes"

7.0

A cheap room right at the ski slope. We liked the place because of its proximity to the slopes. The staff was very kind and everything was squeaky clean. There is a drying room for your skis and ski boots which is great. You can store and cook your own food in the common kitchen (fridge, stove provided) and eat it in the common dining room. The parking is free. Overall suitable place if you need to go to sleep after finishing skiing for the day and I really appreciated that the mattresses were very comfy and the staff kind. I have had some inconveniences though:

The walls are super thin and every single time the neighbours around us did anything - talk, move a furniture, sneeze, shower, we would hear it. All night I was listening to partying youth and some kids screaming - they are fully within their right I guess, atleast until the night peace, but the place would need better sound isolation. Especially that they didn't respect the night peace - but this is not the hostel's fault... I woke up at 3 am to some girls talking aloud in a neighbouring room... I believe the hostel should acknowledge that their sound isolation sucks and tell every single guest who checks in to make sure to be mindful of the night peace and stay quiet after 10pm. Please bring earplugs. The water coming out of the tap is gray and opaque for a while which I assume after a Google-search is because of some stuck air bubbles in the pipes? I assume the same air bubbles make a terribly loud clanking noise every time someone in another room is taking a shower - the shower pipe in our room sounded like it was gonna explode... Another thing - it was HOT inside! Despite it being freezing outside, the inside temperature was 25-27°C at all times which is just way too warm for a comfortable existence. There was a thermostat in our room but turning it down did nothing. The second night we slept with a window open, at winter...¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The "menu" at the front desk informs you that if you pay €8 per person for breakfast, you are allowed one cup of coffee, 2 slices of bread, 2 slices of cheese, 2 slices of ham, oatmeal, etc - everything portioned. For such a price this type of pedantry/pettiness/stinginess is unacceptable, so we did not pay for breakfast (but we were offered some free leftover coffee one morning which we did appreciate). If you get a twin room because you want the balcony, you are not able to push the two beds together and still be able to go to the balcony, the room is that small...
