I stayed in the private room with river view and terrace. I guess it is Nubian style (rounded brick roof). The room was nice and the terrace and view if the Nike was fantastic. This is a great option if you are at a point in life where you prefer private rooms but like to meet other travelers and enjoy the social atmosphere of a hostel. They also offer reasonable prices for tours (including sharing a driver to Luxor with stops at Edfu and Kom Ombo). And they provide a contact to arrange a shared Nile cruise to Luxor that seemed good (but I was already coming from Luxor so I didn't do that). Finally, there is a Carrefour within walking distance with a good selection of food and good prices.

Just a small thing, but there was no shampoo in the room and there was no shelf for shampoo or soap in the shower.

Simple hostel with great access to the river, helpful and friendly staff, peaceful location just outside the center area, close to the big supermarket, the patio by the river is excellent and you can smoke shisha for $1 and rent a kayak or swim. The water is hot and Wi-Fi is good. They have both shared and private rooms. Good size lockers. Brinb yoyr own locker. They also organize transfers to Luxor and day totes to AbuSimbel for a very affordable amd fair price! This place and owner are the best in the area!

Excellent location but you have to walk through the local area to reach it, which has some garbage and dogs, local kids bagging for money. Simple hostel, the bunk beds are functional and comfortable but not sturdy, if someone sleeps on the top bunk, the beds are wiggly. Kitchen can be cleaner. Fridge had some rotten food as it seems that the fridge isn’t cleaned too often.

Great location, close to the Nile River. It’s only about an 11-minute walk to Carrefour and around 21 minutes to the public ferry to Elephantine Island. The host is very helpful and offers trips to Abu Simbel and Luxor (with stops at Kom Ombo and Edfu temples) at really good prices.

There were a few bugs in the room and some spider webs, and the area is quite basic as it’s located in a less developed neighborhood, with many dogs around – but they were harmless and didn’t bother anyone.

Great location, in front of the Nil, very quiet and nice neighborhood

The owner is very kind and helpful, so is the staff, you can’t beat the view, this really a perfect spot for travelers looking for a chill place to stay, barely 15 mins walking from the city center.

Difficult to find restaurants near the place I didn’t get shampoo, soap or towel like in other places

Have been there only for 1 night, room looks very good, nice interior, locating in Nubian village and with the view to the Nile, shared terrace, it was possible to go swim in the Nile, we didn’t try but some may be interested. There is kettle so you can make your own tea in the room and also kitchen where you can cook your own food.

Only thing didn’t like is I requested free cancellation (missed time limit, got ill) and got denied (i expected that) so had to go ill to Aswan anyway, overall room was clean, two minor things wasn't pleasing - shower carpet was wet when we checked and shelves were dusty.
