Do ar-condicionado , salvo melhor juízo, não estava limpo

The location was good for museums, restaurants and bars, etc. The old building and especially the inner courtyard room surrounded by a balcony was attractive (and probably why we chose it).

The place was scruffier than I had imagined for the fairly high price we paid though it is clearly intended as a fun hostel for young travellers with many probably staying in less expensive bunk-rooms/dorms. We had booked a private room with bathroom but found the private bathroom was across a public passageway (and accessible with a key). The room itself was clean (as was the bathroom) but rather tired-looking. After seeing the entrance adverts for pub-crawls, etc., we had anticipated noise at night but fortunately this was minimal.
