Beautiful layout of bedrooms and lounge rooms with superb views . Well situated for accessing the footpaths and Monsal trail nearby.

Self catering kitchen very poor layout, with 3 cramped stoves and only 1 sink around a corner from the large preparation worktop. Probably difficult to change considering that it's an old building. Only 2 frying pans, both toxic as the coating was worn through and peeling off.

More than one key for a group of 5 or 6

Great location with lots of walks straight from the door which were helpfully printed at reception. Staff were super helpful with everything. All kitchen equipment provided for self catering and a drying room for wet clothes. Big rooms downstairs to chill in.

There were quite a few spiders in our room, might have been nice to go round it and get rid of them before we checked in as I really don’t like them!

Most of our group had breakfast and said both the continental & full English breakfasts were worth the money. Accommodation was great, exactly what we expected. Comfortable for a hostel, really friendly and helpful staff.

Only issue was the WiFi not connecting upstairs, only one of us out of 6 guys was able to get any phone signal at the hostel or inside it's grounds - WiFi worked downstairs, but as soon as we went up to our room it dropped out which meant no service at all for 5 of us. But it didn't bother us all that much.
