Property Notes

All bedding, linen, towels, crockery and cutlery are provided with your booking. As well as a firepit with barbecue grill and outdoor seating. Logs and charcoal are available to buy onsite. Acheninver Hostel is an iconic walk-in hostel overlooking the Summer Isles on the Ben Mor Coigach Wildlife Reserve. You will leave your vehicle in a safe off road public car park and walk 5-10 mins down a mountain track to your pod, there is no vehicle access to the hostel. There is a wheelbarrow at you pod if you need to do more than one trip for luggage and food. This property is not wheelchair accessible. You will have DIY check in info emailed to you before arrival, the warden will be available onsite in the private house if you need anything. You can check in after 4pm on arrival day, check out is by 10am. Acheninver Hostel is 27miles from Ullapool and will take 1hour to drive. A deposit may be required at the property.

"Wonderful Staff and excellent location in the highlands"

Ruth was the main host in the hostel, she & her staff were very hospitable and helpful. Despite the late arrival, they were accommodating and shared their food. The location was very scenic and had an excellent view and feel. The Stream running closeby added a very authentic outlook to the highland trip

"un séjour atypique et dépaysant"

L'accueil de Gaetan était parfait, qui a pris le temps au matin de nous montrer les dauphins dans la baie. La vue sur la baie au réveil était chouette. Les pods ne sont pas les uns sur les autres.

On aurait aimé plus d'autonomie dans les pods avec des plaques de cuissons et de vaisselle. Le trajet un peu long depuis le petit parking pour rejoindre le pod sous les attaques incessantes des midges.

"A unique stay for the adventurous types."

Very remote location. Quite an adventure on very narrow one lane roads to get there, but that I what made it unique.

Plus: Pod bien équipé. Du lit, une place sur 2 à la vue sur la mer, l’autre a la vue bouchée par le toit de la maison. Plus: Well-equipped pod. From the bed, one place out of 2 has a sea view, the other has the view blocked by the roof of the house.

Moins : Compliqué à trouver, pas d’accueil, 300m de marche dans un chemin boueux pour atteindre les 4 pods. Pour la cuisson, il faut sortir et aller dans la maison à 20m. Manque d'Intimité, Passage des clients des autres Pod devant notre pod. Mal dormi, il pleuvait impossible d'aérer et pod mal ventilé Minus: Complicated to find, no reception, 300m walk on a muddy path to reach the 4 pods. To cook, you have to go outside and into the house 20m away. Lack of privacy, customers from other pods passing in front of our pod. Slept badly, it was raining, impossible to ventilate and poorly ventilated.

The location is absolutely amazing (those views of the little islands!), the dorm is cosy, just 6 people alltogether, and we felt really welcomed. Thank you lots!

The midges and hirsoflies are s bother, but we had a lot of Smidge available to face them.
