Gallt y Glyn Hostel

We had a fantastic stay at Gallt y Glyn Hostel in Llanberis. Everything was perfect from start to finish. The host was exceptionally kind, welcoming, and always ready to help with local tips. The location is ideal, offering beautiful views of Snowdon and quick access to everything you need.The facilities were spot on — a communal fridge, a drying room for wet gear, and a brilliant bar/restaurant downstairs serving genuinely the best pizza in the area. The atmosphere in the evenings was great too.For hikers, the location couldn’t be better. The Sherpa bus to Pen‑y‑Pass is only a 2‑minute walk away, making it incredibly convenient for starting the Pyg or Miners’ Track. Lake Padarn is also nearby for relaxing walks, and we loved grabbing ice creams at Giorgio’s afterwards.Highly recommended — we’ll definitely be back.

Bar wasn’t open but that wasn’t a massive issue

Clean and well priced with a good bar and food. The location is great for climbing Snowdon.

The heating in my room was on full blast even though it was a hot day. I turned the radiator off and opened all the windows. The rooms are a little on the small side, but as only there one night, it wasn't a problem.

We absolutely loved the beds. Even though you were in a small dorm environment the boxed in beds gave a real feeling of privacy.
