"Very Good"

7.0

Great location; there is even a busy Sunday night market. It’s close to all the tourist locations. Nice comfortable beds, big spacious room, lots of toilets and showers just for women. The kitchen space is nice too. The staff were also very friendly and helpful and let us leave our bags there after we’d checked out. Also when you get there they want you to pay with a payment link. This seems sketchy at first as we’d never come across it in any part of Asia over 8 months but is perfectly safe.

To bring a new guest into the room the worker BANGS down the door for a solid minute. This is fine, except they allow guests to come in early in the morning - not nice to wake up at 7:30am with the door being slammed down? I understand in a female dorm a man may not want to come in, but surely then either ask a female member of staff to bring the girl in quietly, or tell her where her bed will be before entering? Additionally, although this isn’t the hostels fault, I have never stayed in a hostel with so many inconsiderate guests. One woman started her work calls in the bed on loud speaker at 8am, and continued working until midnight with her notifications on loud, another took a phone call on loudspeaker at 8am, while a third told me I couldn’t turn the main light off at 11:30pm. These are basic rules that everyone else in every other hostel abides by. Not sure if Pondicherry is a common stop off for people’s first hostel experience (as one of these women was loudly complaining she didn’t have privacy in the room to get undressed?) or maybe the hostel could do more to teach people how to act in hostel situations?? Ie signs “no phone calls in the room” “switch phone/laptop to silent mode in room” Finally the bunk beds are very very high, if someone had mobility issues it may be a problem, though was fine for us.

"Dream stay on Paros"

10.0

Our host Helen made us so welcome and ensured our stay was the best of our 6 weeks in Europe. Paros is beautiful and the villas are within a few minutes walk to the beach and several good restaurants. The villa we stayed in was very clean and bright and had everything you wanted. We didn't want to leave. It was very quiet and private as well. Thanks Helen and Babis.

All great

"Distasteful. Disgusting.Disgruntled."

1.0

Everything. The property is ageing badly, and the owner invested in a restaurant below, where the focus shifted and the jewellery stores he opened. But he could have chosen to maintain the property, Revamp the washrooms please. All faucets broken. Dorm beds stained, pillows soiled. Walls greased. Kitchen equipments worn out. Staff is rude and not helpful. May be because the old staff have quit the organisation too. Except for 1-2 staff at check in who still share a friendly conversation. It no longer carries a hostel vibe, as it doesn’t have the hostel community vibe anymore. The host stopped hosting or curating a single event. It’s become more of a weekend rowdy noisy, drunken focus place. All this at a price of an expensive single room in Pondicherry or even Auroville. Why for what? To keep expanding your jewellery stores, and lose your core business and value towards your mission to build Micasa? Micasa es tu casa ( as they yet quote) Please change it to Micasa - Es mess Casa
