"I will always cherish the memories i made here and the people i met will always have a special place in my heart"

10.0

Starting a first solo trip can be a bit nerve-wracking, but Joey’s Hostel in Rishikesh completely shifted my perspective and set the bar incredibly high. I originally checked in from the 25th to the 27th, but the vibe was so infectious and the comfort so genuine that I ended up extending my stay for an extra day. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is electric yet welcoming, making it the perfect sanctuary for anyone navigating the road alone for the first time. It’s not just a place to crash; it’s a space where the "solo" part of your journey quickly evolves into a shared adventure with like-minded travelers. The real game-changer for my experience was David Bhaiya, the community guide. He didn’t just show me the typical tourist spots; he helped me explore Rishikesh in ways I truly couldn’t have imagined on my own. Whether it was uncovering hidden local gems or finding the best vantage points that aren't on a map, his guidance added a layer of depth to my trip that you won’t find in any guidebook. Having someone like David Bhaiya around ensures that even if you arrive alone, you’re never actually lonely, and you leave with stories that feel incredibly personal and authentic. To top it all off, the staff at Joey’s is exceptionally friendly and always ready to help with a genuine smile. They go above and beyond to make sure every guest feels like part of the family, which is exactly the kind of support you need when you're out on your first solo mission. The blend of a great community, amazing staff, and unique local insights makes this hostel a must-stay. If you’re a solo traveler looking for a mix of comfort and genuine connection, Joey’s is the place to be—I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

stayed at Joey’s Hostel in Tapovan, Rishikesh, and my overall experience was just okay—not bad, but not exceptional either. The hostel has a social vibe, and I did end up making a new friend there, which was definitely a positive part of my stay. The rooms and facilities were decent but nothing special. Cleanliness and comfort were manageable, though there’s definitely room for improvement. It’s the kind of place that works if you’re on a budget and don’t mind a few compromises. One thing I really liked was their rooftop café. The view from there is beautiful, especially with the mountains around—it’s a great spot to just sit, relax, and enjoy the atmosphere. Also, a thanks to David bhai for organizing some adventure activities. He took us to a waterfall and a sunrise point, which turned out to be the best part of the trip. Overall, it’s an average stay with a good social environment and a great rooftop view. Worth considering if your focus is on meeting people and exploring rather than luxury.

Leaving to early 😔
