Location and calm environment

Good location in a lovely, green and residential part of the city with some nice food places nearby. There is a bus stop at the end of the road from which we got the bus in/out of town which was convenient for us. Basic room and bathroom with working hot water, fan and Wi-Fi. There is a communal kitchen area which we didn’t use.

Before arriving we messaged the host with some questions about Mysuru, including how to get to the property using public/private transport. For a number of these questions we were told to Google the information ourselves to find the answer which was disappointing seeing as the host lives in Mysuru and we would expect them to be able to provide basic public transport information that relates to their property rather than relying on information which is not always correct or up to date on Google. We arrived at the property early before check in time and we were able to leave our bags until check in time but there was no option for us to wait at the property before check in. We were told to come back at 12pm which we did and while it seemed like the room had been ready for a while, basic things like toilet paper, soap and sheets had not been provided. This was disappointing as we had been waiting a long time to check in, it seemed like the room was ready before the check in time but still these things hadn’t been provided. We also were not shown to the room straight away even though we had been waiting a long time to check in as the host seemed more concerned about taking payment for the room. The room is listed as having a balcony but the balcony is the roof of the building and it wouldn’t be appropriate to spend any time there as no chairs/shade cover were provided so you would have to sit on the floor of the roof in the sun. The curtain is very thin so the light comes in very early so you need an eye mask. Even though the room is in a quiet, residential area, we could hear a lot of noise from outside in the room which kept us awake. On the first evening we found hundreds of small and big ants in the room and bathroom which we informed the host about. We were given ant repellent to deal with the ants but we expressed our dissatisfaction with the room being infested with ants and we felt it was very unclean.

Very quiet place in a family neighbourhood close to Gokulam by walk. Very good value for money. It is quite simple but perfect ! I stayed there 2 nights and came back one month later for 3 extra nights. Thank you ! 😊
