The Upcycled Hostel

Brilliant outdoor communal area. While it is located 5mins outside of the oasis, this allows it to be much bigger than hostels inside it. It was also extremely easy to get a taxi into the oasis, the hostel also has its own tuk tuk. Great staff, nice decoration and good food.

Walls are thin so you will be woken up by other travellers getting up early for sunrise tours etc.

No tenía secador, el agua caliente prácticamente no salía y hacía frío en la habitación.

Absolutamente todo. Sobre todo la amabilidad de Luis y Andrea! Un sitio único!

Heerlijk afgelegen van de drukte! Een oase van rust. Ruime badkamer! prima bed. Vriendelijk personeel. Op loopafstand van het centrum.

Ontbijt is iets karig

The bed was very comfy and the staff were really nice. The bloke who was usually on the door gave me a ride in his tuktuk for 10 soles back to the coach station which made things very easy. Food was OK and pisco sours were great :) Some may see the distance to walk to Ica itself and Huacachina as a negative but I liked being halfway between both. Huacachina took 20 mins and into the main city about half an hour if I remember correctly.

It was a bit slow being seen to at the bar/reception at times. A curtain on the bunks would be nice but I knew they didn't have these before I stayed!

É um hotel central.

Quarto sem armários, sem água quente. Falei com um funcionário sobre a água quente que não havia. Mostrou-se admirado. Foi ao quarto, dirigiu-se à casa de banho e desatarrachou o chuveiro (que era fixo num tubo na parede). Perguntei o que estava a fazer. Disse que estava a ver se vinha a água quente. A água a correr do tubo e nada. Por 3 x me disse que lhe parecia que a água estava a ficar quente, mas eu ia ver e estava fria. Como eu continuei ali, disse-me que talvez não houvesse gás. Saiu do quarto para um corredor exterior onde se encontrava um pequeno esquentador com uma bilha de gás. Pegou nela e disse-me que era mesmo falta de gás e que tinha de comprar outra. Como era hora de jantar fomos jantar. No fim fui ter com ele e perguntei se já tínhamos gás. Não tínhamos. Foi então falar com outro funcionário… que foi tirar uma garrafa de gás a um outro esquentador do outro lado do corredor e a pôs no nosso. E assim tivemos água quente! No dia a seguir já estava fria de novo. Terão tirado de lá a bilha do gás?

La cisterna dl wc no iba bien y durante la noche se escuchaba música de todas las discotecas de alrededor hasta la mañana siguiente. Desayuno sencillo, pero bueno.
