Hostel Andrei

Location is very good, 20 min walk to Palace, 5 min to university. Rooms are quiet and clean. Shared bathrooms quite spacious.

Kitchen is bit worn and not ideally clean.

Beds and bathrooms were clean and good. Very few people so I could relax. Overall good if you need a place to rest and move on, but nothing unforgettable. The owner can be friendly and give you suggestions if you ask about specific stuff both in Iasi and Moldova.

I arrived 2 hours before check-in time and, although half of the hostel was empty, I was only given the possibility of leaving the backpack at reception instead of in the room’s locker. Don’t expect a social vibe. For the price (almost 20€) in eastern Romania I was expecting more (like soap in the shower or AC in the room instead of the corridor), but there are just very few alternatives.

Ein blitzsauberes Hostel zwischen Spital und Radiostudio, also in einer sehr guten Gegend. Stadtzentrum kann zu Fuss erreicht werden. Eine sehr gut ausgestattete Küche, schnelles Internet, Lockers. Ein sehr netter und hilfreicher Besitzer. Das Motorrad kann beim Eingang sicher abgestellt werden. Supermarkt in der Nähe.

Es war soweit alles in Ordnung.

Les chambres sont spacieuses; les douches très fonctionnelles. L’hostel a une propreté irréprochable. Il y avait une cuisine, avec pas mal de matériel dont un frigidaire, un micro-ondes. L’hostel offrait le thé et le café que l’on pouvait faire dans la cafetière. Il y a un joli balcon. Andreï est à l’écoute des voyageurs et très aimable : merci pour le ventilateur, c’était très utile, en ce temps de forte chaleur. Toutes les informations étaient bien expliquées via whatsapp. Globalement, c’était un bon lieu, avec un bon rapport qualité/prix; safe (avec un code à l’entrée) et proche du centre (15mn à pied).

Le règlements interieur indique bien qu’il faut respecter la tranquillité des voyageurs entre 22h et 8h00. Personnellement, j’ai eu la surprise d’avoir deux femmes qui ont parlé fort dans la chambre jusqu’à 00h00 et qui m’ont réveillée à 5h00 du matin. Elles parlaient à haute voix, alors qu’il etait 5h du matin...une des femmes a continué à faire du bruit et à regarder des vidéos fort jusqu’à 8h. En fonction des voyageurs, vous pourrez bien avoir des surprises...! Les chambres peuvent être très chaudes l’été. Mon lit n’était pas très confortable et je n’avais pas de lockers sous mon lit. Les chambres ne bénéficient pas de clefs individuelles. Malgré des explications claires sur whatsapp, l’absence d’une vraie réception avec une présence humaine régulière est dommage...! Tout dépendra des voyageurs avec qui vous serez, mais globalement, ce n’est pas un lieu où vous ferez beaucoup de rencontres, car il y a un côté un peu "chacun pour soi" et les profils des clients ne sont pas forcément ceux avec qui il est le plus aisé de sympathiser lorsqu’on est un voyageur étranger.

It's a clean and cheap hostel. The bed was comfortable. There is also a kitchen. (But if you want to meet travelers it's not the best hostel for that.) There is a great balcony.

There was not a real door to my room, so I had the feeling to sleep on the hall. Some flatmates were loud in the morning. There was also no air conditioning. There was not a stove in the kitchen.
