What I liked was the charm of the old-style accommodation at the Santuario di Oropa. It has a lot of character and feels very atmospheric, with a quiet mountain setting that makes it quite special.

As other people mentioned, the corridors can be very echoey so noise carries easily. Even though the place is really charming and set in a beautiful location, you can still end up with a view over a car park instead of the scenery you might expect. There are also no photos showing the actual room views in the listing, so if that matters to you, it’s worth asking in advance what your room will look onto. That said, given the size and layout of the complex, it may simply not be easy to guarantee different types of views for every room.
