The Bohemians' Shelter

The house is located in a peaceful and beautiful setting. We’ve walked around the area nearby, Bohemian Shelter is definitely the most wonderful and cosy place to stay while in Hakuba! The host Gaspard and his dad are both very friendly and helpful with guests’ needs. The dinner they offer is delicious too!

Cute house, great staff. Gas is running a really great house and was very accomodating to our itinerary.

Got picked up from train station on the first day and dropped off at the bus station on the last day as request. Shuttle service to the ski resorts around Hakuba was at reasonable times. Start and end of lift timings. Gas, Bianca and Liam are really nice people to talk to. Great dinner as well. Super affordable accoms. Location might be a turn off but don't hesitate to ask the staff about getting a ride to town in the afternoon if you're not heading to the slopes in the morning.

Location but you get what you pay for.

The building has been set up very well with a lovely traditional style breakfast area, in the next room is a great communal hangout area. Everything was great value and the owner is a legend. Super knowledgeable, friendly and helpful.

It’s a bit far out of town, but the owner does 3 runs into town in the mornings and 2-3 in the afternoon. He also offers runs into town in the evening for a very reasonable price.

The staff made me feel more than welcome :)

2WD+chain was hard and stuck in the road. The owner helped me and run over it. Very appreciate for the help.

Amazing place and great people. I had such a great time. Gaspard and his crew are super friendly and helpful. I felt very welcome.

Gaspard is a terrific host who really went out of his way to assist us. 3 things worth noting: if you're older and haven't done The Hostel Thing in awhile, be prepared. Common areas can be crowded and noisy. The meals were VERY GOOD and reasonably priced. We had originally booked 2 separate beds in one room but had a nice sized queen. Communal shower and baths were fine. Overall vibe of house was Aussie lads on vacay but every one was well behaved. A fantastic option for gap year kids.
