"Lovely hostel in remote location"

9.0

The Hostess was extremely friendly, upgraded my room as there were very little guests in the hostel, when I was there. Being the only Hostel all over Laguna, they tried to be the very top. There are almost all tools in the kitchen available, 6 flames for cooking and 2 sinks with a large kitchen table to sit everyone. Nicely located for the beaches and hikes, which is also the negative here.

To go downtown it's very uncomfortable, as a boatride and a bus or uber/taxi ride away, which is always 5R$for the boat (to and fro) and 10 for a cab or uber oneway. Simply, I was there for 2,5 days and did it one evening, when there were other people in the hostel to go out with. Alone I didn't feel like it at all. This is just my personal experience, for me I felt very lonely, the other guest only talked to me a couple of times, but wasn't interested at all. Not the fault if the hostel, of course and for Carnaval it is booked out. Also, there is no reception, so anything of communication is per WhatsApp and I think cleaning bathrooms and toilets only every 3 days is not what I would expect with common bathrooms. The first 2 nights we were 4 people to use 2 bathrooms, the paperbin was almost full on the 2nd day. Also moskitoes are a pain, the electric thing doesn't do it's job, as there is only one in the other corner if the room and of course, one would like to sleep with open windows at 25C. Moskito protection on all the windows would do a lot here. One more thing, there is only this one big table in the whole house and it's very dark in the kitchen. The beautiful outside though with hammocks and sit down palets are moving, as on wheels and no table for being a remote worker. As I was alone, I did use the kitchen for some time, but it would be so much nicer, to be able to sit outside and work, but nowhere to set the Laptop, charging is available. Just a recommendation from a Digital Nomad, not a must for pure tourists of course. Still thank you so much for your help!!
