The hostel was in a good location being a short walk from the centre of town and we appreciated the allocated storage/fridge spaces in the kitchen. Plenty of parking either at the hostel or on the street outside.

The dorm felt crowded with there being very little space between the beds or room to open your bags. Beds also weren’t allocated so we were left with two top bunks as we were the last to arrive. Some facilities like the bathrooms felt like they could be updated and the hostel wasn’t hugely sociable during the time that we were there.

Schön eingerichtet. Alles nötige vorhanden. Im großen und ganzen sauber.

Der Teppichboden ist eventuell nicht ideal.

The garden, with hammocks and a clothing line was nice in the warm sun. Bunkbeds all have their own little basket attached at the bedhead, which was great for storing your book/phone/earplugs etc

Bunkbeds a bit squeaky(but that’s probably very common). Have a feeling it might be too cold during periods of less summer sunshine

I would give 6 stars if I could. I booked a room through Booking.com, but due to a system error, the hostel was already fully booked. I didn’t realize this until I arrived at reception. The manager, Hayley, was absolutely amazing. It wasn’t her fault at all, yet she spent nearly two hours helping me — even staying past her working hours. We made more than ten phone calls trying to solve the issue. In the end, she arranged another room for me at no extra cost. Hayley truly demonstrated a level of hospitality that I deeply respect and admire. Because of this experience, I decided to book a bed at Mountain View Backpackers again. The hostel is very well maintained and thoughtfully managed. Everything is clean and organized, and they even provide a hair dryer. Highly recommended
