"Fabulous location, lovely house, terrific host."

9.0

My room was larger than I expected. It was warm and the bed was comfortable. The ensuite has a shower and loo, both of which worked! There's also a shared bathroom on the ground floor. The kitchen has everything you need to cook up a feast with a common room just beyond it with dining tables, a few settees and telly. There's a garden as well, if it happens to be good weather with a BBQ. Security is taken seriously; two locking doors between you and the street, and the rooms are individually locked. Plenty of storage, too.

Couldn't ask for more for the prices. Great location, the room spacious enough with sink with hot water, shower room and kitchen - all were tidy and pleasant. The owner Graham was welcoming, helpful and very kind . Thank you !

"Above and beyond!"

10.0

We arranged to arrive earlier than check in as we we're car sharing and left our bags with Graham while he was preparing our room. We headed into Chester which was a 10 minute walk away accessed via Brook St. Everything that you need is either opposite The Bunkroom (food, off licence, buses, car wash, Deva Tap bar etc) or on Brook St towards town (barbers, cafe, charity shop, pub etc). We had a chance to look around the rest of The Bunkroom the next morning and found the kitchen, and lounge/diner immaculate and equipped with everything you could need on a trip. The outside area was well equipped and would be a sun trap in the summer. The mattress in our room was Nectar memory foam so very comfy and the bunkbeds which we didn't use were solid and clean. All the bedding was matching and was Elements from Dunelm. Little details included plug sockets and lamps at height for the bunkbeds, lots of info in the hallway on the notice boards and healthy houseplants throughout. We heard no noise during our stay, either inside or outside the property, which led to a good nights sleep. We would definitely return to Chester and The Bunkhouse again.

The fact that this is called a hostel!! We are both 54 and are stumped at this!!
