הגעתי עם ביתי בת ה7. האחראית שקיבלה את פנינו הייתה מקסימה. גם בטלפון, בזמן ההזמנה דאגה שנקבל מה שביקשנו. יחסית למיקום ואופי האכסנייה, היה נקי. חיכו לנו מגבות ומצעים נקיים. המקום הוא חלק ממיזם חברתי שנועד לעזור לנשים בסיכון ככה ששווה לתמוך בהם ולהגיע.

המיקום קרוב לים, אבל איזור קצת מפוקפק. היה קר ולא היו שמיכות חמות ככה שרק אחרי כמה שעות של מזגן נהיה נעים. נכנס הרבה אור מבחוץ ללא אפשרות להסתיר מה שהפריע קצת לישון. במקלחת הצינור היה קרוע וזרם המים היה חלש נורא עד בלתי אפשרי.

I wanted to like this place. I gave it a chance. I like that it’s non-profit, but I think it suffers because of it. Maybe the staff was having a bad week. But I never got a proper check in. First 10 minutes I was there two staff members were screaming at each other. I saw used beds occupied by new guests without new sheets. No toilet seat in my bathroom. Paint shavings in the shower. Yoga and paint classes in the lounge, where the attendees aren’t guests of the hostel. Most residents are permanent. Hostels are for foreigners. That should be a rule. This kills any type of community.
