The staff was great and the location very cool. The whole building is a special experience. It’s interesting to stay at a place without seeing it before. And the room was heated up very quickly that was great! The food was delicious and not expensive. I like that they don’t provide toothbrushes etc. because it is better for the planet to just bring your own instead of the one time things!

The futon was sadly very hard and not so comfortable:c I’m not sure if I didn’t read it, or it was not mentioned. But there are no towels included. You could borrow them for a small fee though. It was just unexpected.

Staying in Tami and Yurihama was likely the number one highlight of my month in Japan. The accomodations are very comfortable, the staff are warm and welcoming, and the hostel serves as a cafe/pub where you can socialize (even as a foreigner!) with the locals. I hope to return one day.

Beautiful traditional rooms! easy to use the kitchen, and nice cafe and breakfast in the morning. well located near the lake

we traveled in January and it was really really cold in the bathroom area, no heating at all there

This hostel is great. The staff was really friendly, the breakfast was good and I really liked the rooms and the design of the place in general. Everything was really cute and clean. Especially I really like the bath tub. That was great to relax. I will come again.

The only thing was maybe that it's a bit cold in winter inside.
