Bella's Backpackers Hostel

Well located and comfortable, many toilets and showers. The receptionists were very helpful, even telling me where to find cheaper food in such an expensive island

They tried hard to overcharge me, initially refusing to give any explanation for that – the volunteer at the reception just stated firmly that the hostel “has a policy” of charging an extra fee on top of Booking.com’s final price. As I was also firmly demanding an explanation she finally said the overcharge is for payment with credit card – but I had just told her I was going to pay in cash! Also, in one of the dormitories the lockers are fake and completely unsafe, it’s just to move the whole piece and all of them are open from behind (see the pic)

Location was great, super comfy hammocks. My room had AC which was needed and comfortable. Kitchen facilitators and water. The hostel definitely deserves a higher rating than it’s given on booking.com

I was very happy to not be there on a Sunday as I think this would have ruined my experience as I’m not much of a partner (Sunday Funday). Lots of local randoms which hung around the hostel so be sure to lock your belongings as my door didn’t have a lock on it.

Good place to meet people, friendly staff, awesome tour with good vibes, Sunday funday looked amazing.

The single room we had, the front door would not shut (shut, yet alone lock) and also had holes throughout the walls and felt dirty (needed some tlc). The staff were very good and as the door didn’t shut both nights they moved us to alternate rooms. In saying that, if the rooms weren’t available unsure what we’d have done. - the first night we were there, multiple drunk people entered the room, and multiple locals as well (some even asked us why we were in there) This room aside, was a great place to stay.
