Sashii Hostel & Boutique.

while it seemed nice i didn’t get to stay

i had a confirmed booking with parking when I showed up the guy was not pleasant at all. it seems he was completely sleep as we had to ring the doorbell several times. finally when he opened the door he said had no parking and only bunkbeds and pretty much let us go. he had no interest and giving us a room and showing where to leave the car even if it was outside. long story short we ended up spending the night in the car.

This hostel is conveniently located close to the centre, with restaurants nearby and a supermarket next to it, so perfect if you stay here before you go on a tour to La Guajira. The staff was very friendly and helpful and even called someone who spoke English to explain the safety/security measurements to take in this part of Colombia. The breakfast was good and we loved the rooftop terrace and the hammocks on the balcony.

The room was a bit small but luckily wer were just with the two of us, so we used the bunkbed to put our luggage. The jacuzzi was out of order, which is always a bit of a turnoff when it is shown in pictures. The hostal has a few cats walking around and I woke up with a strong allergic reaction. So it could be something to be mentioned at the description. I wouldn't describe it as a boutique hostel, because for me that means something different than just a lot of decorations with positive texts.

The staff is very friendly, but the windows don’t hold back much noise and between the traffic and one of the employees screaming outside at 6:30 in the morning it’s not the best for sleep. Small rooms, but decent

- They are always cleaning - Staff is extremely helpful - They also run an agency, so you can book tours from here (go see the flamingos)

Good location, small rooms, but alright. We didn’t appreciate the owner screaming very (!) loudly at 6.30 am outside the hotel, followed by a comment about how people don’t like how loud he talks. The street-side room has single glass windows and is extremely noisy. All the staff was absolutely great and very helpful
