Hostel on the Hill

This hostel was a bit off trail for the FT however a great alternative to the pricey accommodations in salema, and it was so worth it, Martijn sells some small things to eat if you want to and the hostel feels so good

The owner is super nice and we loved exchanging with him! The place is beautiful and homey with a real soul, and the view is breathtaking. I would definitly recommend it and come again.

I enjoyed this place a lot because it really felt like coming home after a long day of hiking. Super friendly owner. The hostel is clean and organised while still being cosy.

A warm welcome is a great start to your stay at Hostel on the hill. The village of Horta do Tabual is a bit off the Fishermen’s Trail route but it’s an easy detour to get there and you can rejoin the trail further on. There is one restaurant in the village and the hostel also sells some staple food items at reasonable prices so you can cook in the hostel if you prefer. Quiet at night, I slept well in the dorm.

Prachtig uitzicht, relaxte atmosfeer en geen poes pas. Heel laagdrempelig.

Excellent hostel with heart and soul. Beautiful arra, views, peace and calmness. Super nicely equipped, free coffee and tea was a cherry on the top.
