Returned my keys at receptionist at 4 A.M. to receive 10€ deposit back. Went to kitchen to get water. When I returned to front door to try to leave, discovered that Receptionist had locked me into the building, then disappeared, with no recourse/contact. There is no bell. Tried calling an admin (there are many) in their WhatsApp group, “I don’t work there anymore bro”. Panicked; train was in 15 minutes. The sleeping room is carpeted and probably has never been steamed, so it smells like a gym. Sweat, food,etc. accumulated over years in the carpet.

Great location. Very short walk into the old town and about 20 minutes to the castle. The staff is so helpful and friendly. Almost all of the staff are volunteers and are just genuinely excited to be there. The hostel has daily activities from 12 to midnight. There’s a nightly vegan dinner for five euros you can partake in. The building itself is quite large and there’s lots of options for showers, kitchen is large, there are two bars- one with a rooftop. I just really liked everything about this property. I extended my stay twice. If I go back to Bratislava, I’ll absolutely stay there again!

I wasn’t crazy about the idea of having to have cash for things, but that’s just a personal preference.

Definitely best place to be around and from the start I would love to thank the receptionist who let me stay even I am on my 50 s and the age restriction was not a problem and saved me from looking for alternative accommodation after midnight .In the room I met very nice and friendly young people and volunteers were extremely polite and nice and so professional.Thanks them for their hard work . This is really happy place with positive vibes. I will definitely come back again with pleasure because I loved it!
