Albergue Puente para peregrinos

Première albergue rencontrée depuis Roncevaux dans laquelle on s est senties aussi bien, aussi bien accueillies.

Les petites attentions d accueil, la décoration, la cuisine tres tres bien équipée…

Location was great, staff was great! Room was small but comfortable was Hot so floor fan made it tolerable

Alot of stairs. 2 toilets and 2 showers per floor made for busy morning.

What breakfast? Was there a breakfast? When I arrived, I was greeted with a locked door after a 26 km walk in full sun. It was a fellow peregrina Who gave me the code to get in. I was in a state of panic She suggested I look on Whatsapp for information. She was right. I never saw anyone at reception. Creaky beds. You could not MOVE without waking up everyone in the room.

I loved the location close to the cathedral in the old part of town and next good restaurants.

This is a lovely albergue right in the middle of this beautiful town. There are cafes, bars and restaurants easy walking distance (5 mins) nearby. The main street is also just around the corner. The young lady receptionist was very welcoming and charming and made us feel at home right away. The reception area is large and ideal for meets and chats. We stayed in a shared room of 6 bunk beds and they were fine. Shower and toilet facilities were absolutely fine, clean and sufficient. It was particularly hot weather 34 degrees so with the windows open at night the bedroom was cool which was a relief. I slept ok. There is clothes wash by hand facilities only available and a drying room which is not really sufficient. No dryer. It has an open balcony area to meet and chat which is nice and a kitchen facility is also available for those who like to cook. There is a cold drinks and snack machine on site at reasonable prices which is welcome. I liked this albergue and would recommend it. Good price and a charming receptionist after a long days hike is always welcome.

We washed some clothes and the drying room really is not sufficient. We took them to the upper open meet area and let them dry there. I don't understand why this is frowned upon. Others followed. They need to look at that again.
