Pura Vida Mini Hostel Santa Teresa

Very social hostel. Two well equipped kitchens with a lot of fridge space - the pool was also great and so was the location. If you are coming here to surf, there is a well priced surfboard rental shop near the property, walking distance from a surfing beach.

There is no AC in the rooms - just a fan. However i think this is reflected in the price. Overall it wasn’t too bad temperature wise.

Literally nothing.

The Argentinian boy who received us was terrible (not to say useless) but the girl at check out was helpful. Bathroom lacking toilet paper and no one making you feel welcomed. We stayed at the bungalows, terrible. Super hot, barely any plugs, bed very uncomfortable and noisy neighbours next to us. You hear even when people are in the kitchen. Room was not ready when we arrived and the guy at the desk was not helpful at all. Oh, they dont accept cards.

I had a terrible experience at Pura Vida Mini Hostel. The booking advertised a 30 m² bungalow for 3 people, but the room was no more than 11 m²—a complete scam. The humidity in the room was unbearable, and the overall conditions were unacceptable. When we raised our concerns with the manager, he was nonchalant, dismissive, and outright disrespectful. It’s appalling that they advertise false room details and show no regard for their guests' comfort. I strongly do not recommend this hotel to anyone.

I’ve stayed at the hostel for almost a month, and it was absolutely fantastic! The rooms are clean, cozy, and well-maintained – I highly recommend booking one with AC and a private bathroom for maximum comfort. The shared area is a real highlight, with a well-equipped kitchen that makes cooking easy, a pool to cool off in, hammocks to relax in, and a serene atmosphere surrounded by lush greenery. It’s just a short walk (a few minutes) to the beach, making it a perfect location for surfers or anyone looking to enjoy the ocean. The staff and the owner were incredibly friendly and welcoming, always available to help or share local tips. The Wi-Fi was quite good, but if you’re working remotely, having mobile data as a backup is a good idea. Overall, I loved my time at Pura Vida Mini Hotel and would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommended!

I loooove it! The personal its so nice, the place its absolutely beautiful, like a little oasis in the jungle! The vibes are really relax and the pool its perfect after the beach!! Im staying longer that I planned hehhee thanks you guys!!!
