Casa Roja Hostel

Superb hostel right next to the beach, but far enough away from the centre to be nice and quiet. Lovely big room with a terrace, where we could relax in a hammock or eat food we had prepared in the outdoor kitchen. It was great to sit and watch the birds and iguanas, which enjoyed our banana skins. Nice hot showers, and plenty of places to eat nearby. We enjoyed it so much we stayed. another night.

Beware of the mosquitoes in the kitchen area. Otherwise nothing we didn't enjoy.

Really lovely location that is quiet and very clean kitchen. Very impressed with everything and its location on the quieter side of Montanita. We would certainly return to this place again. Also close to the supermarket.

Lovely and peaceful hostal in Montanita, next to the beach, 5 min from town but very quiet. Liked it so much we have booked it again for a few nights.

Amazing place, right at the beach and close to Montanita center, but still quiet at night. Gloria is a fantastic host, very friendly and happy to help. Rooms are super clean and in good condition incl. A/C and hot water. There is an outdoor kitchen with everything you need, a pool table and a pool from where you can watch Iguanas in the trees.

We loved the big open common kitchen area and the island space for making meals. Nice to have the extra hangout space with tables, pool table , hammocks and most importantly shade! Having a nice clean swimming pool, out door shower to rinse off sand from the beach was great. Also, it was fun to feed the iguanas at the river by our room all of our fruit & vegetable peels . It’s really nice to walk to the beach right out the gate from the hostel, and the sunsets are amazing.

The managers dogs barking woke us up a couple nights, but I guess it’s their job. the next day we think they caught an iguana so that’s likely what all the excitement and barking was about.😗

The room was very spacious and comfortable and the outdoor area is absolutely beautiful! The kitchen is very well equipped and is wayyy nicer than the pictures on here. The location is perfect, you feel very secluded but once you step outside the gate you're right in front of the super market and right on the beach.

We enjoyed everything!
