Good location, with everything within walking distance. Very friendly staff and beautiful lookout of the window of our room. Even a small balcony to sit on.

The hostel is a little noisy, you can hear the restaurant and other guests easily.

Stayed here for 1 night while in Banos. This place is located on the edge of town but is still very close to many places to eat and drink. My room consisted of 3 twin beds. It was clean but basic. The view from the roof was nice. My stay included breakfast which was slow but satisfactory. My only complaint was the rooster that lives next door woke me up very early. Overall, this place was fine. If you need an inexpensive place to stay in Banos that is clean, this place will do.

We were very lucky to come across this place due to Hostelworld over booking our original choice but it turned out that this place was even better. We were welcomed by a sweet lady who checked us into our dorm and provided us with free clean towels. The hostel has some great family vibes and the place was always very clean. In the back of the property was a gorgeous pool which was extremely well maintained and a bar with $1.75 beers. Upstairs you’ll find the breakfast area which we ate at a couple of times which again was very affordable. The location is about 2-3 minutes away from the town cathedral and city center, Baños isn’t very large so all essentials are within walking distance. Thank you for your warm hospitality and making my stay in Baños unforgettable.

Really happy with our stay at the Chiminea. Nice room with good mattress, decent pillows, hot water, good internet, plus the room had chairs, shelves, night light, balcony. Quiet location but only a couple mins walk from the church and the termales. All of this for $10each. What's not to like?!

The hostel was easy to find. It's conveniently located in the main street near many restaurants and souvenir stores. It has a terrace with a wonderful view of the waterfalls in the mountain. A part of the terrace is covered and it serves as the dining room. The menu is varied but the best you can have is freshly baked bread and juice for breakfast. The rooms are big enough and have a TV and a clean bathroom with hot and cold water. The water is heated by solar panels and the rooms have plants in them. You can also have a read on the balcony. Although I can find many good aspects to this hostel, I have to mention that it lacks a safe to store valuables. Other than that, everything was perfectly fine! That's why I recommend this hostel. The owners are friendly and are always available to help.

Carlos and his family were wonderful. I had a very comfortable stay and have and will continue to recommend their place. The breakfast was very tasty and the best coffee I have had at a hostal so far. I stayed in #20 and it had a beautiful view of the waterfall. Thank you

Going during Corona Virus Time is difficult. You cannot get coffee in the city before 9AM. This place is a wonderful place. You can see the waterfall from the terrace that by the way has burners and a sink where you can make your own coffee. The owner is an amiable guy where you can tell he has a great heart. For me...I wanted a couple of beers. He did not have change and asked me to pay him the next day. The place is excellent for the price and it is quaint. It is a "Hostal" so you won't get the fancy service and you won't pay the fancy price. I am recommending this place because the owner is so nice that he deserves the business. It is so clean and well maintained that I would gladly have paid double.

Our dorm room was perfectly clean and the hostel seemed nice. Bonus that it was right across the street from the thermal baths. It was a bit confusing to get around and we didn't get to meet anyone. It also didn't feel super safe - the doors locked with a key, but it seemed like anyone could get access to the keys. And there was no lockbox in the room. Other than that though, everything was perfectly fine and we had no issues. The staff was also a very nice family!
